A multi-volume, woodblock-printed picture book entitled Miyo no Hana (i.e., Flowers of the Imperial Reign) was edited by Kōtarō Yamada and published in 1892. It included the twenty-four pictures of flowers and (or) birds shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Nineteen of the pictures were drawn by artists active in the late 19th century. The other five pictures were drawn by famous artists from the 17th and 18th centuries.
